Physics Department Faculty and Staff

Professor Day received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984 where he studied phase transitions in liquid crystals. After post-doctoral work at the Universite de Sherbrooke and Michigan State University he joined the faculty of Marquette University as an assistant professor in 1988.

Dr. Day was promoted to associate professor in 1995 and professor in 2001. He joined the faculty of John Carroll University in July 2002 as the chair of the physics department. His research is on the elastic and electrical properties of composite materials.  He is particularly interested in the relation between microstructure and properties.
