Experiential Learning - Immersion Trips
The Political Science Department believes in the value of "experiential education," education in which classroom study is supported by practical applications and lived experiences.
Domestic and international "Immersion Trips" are one way in which students can not only enhance their John Carroll coursework, but connect these studies with active engagement in the community at large. Some Immersion Trips also include an option for academic credit.
The specific focus of Immersion Trips can vary. Some are faith-based; some, service-oriented; and others more geared to cultural or academic enrichment--although most participants argue that there are definitely elements of all these in every Immersion Trip!
