General Healthcare Prerequisites
The healthcare professions represent a blending of science, social science, the humanities, and business. Academic
- 2 Semesters of General Biology + Laboratorys
- 2 Semesters of General Chemistry + Laboratorys
- 2 Semesters of English Compositions
- 2 Semesters of College Level Math
- 2 Semesters of Organic Chemistry + Laboratorys
- 2 Semesters of General Physics + Laboratorys
- 1 Semester of Social Science
- 1 Semester of Business or Economics
- 1 Semester of Ethics
- 1 Semester of Genetics
- 1 Semester of Upper Division Biology
Many professional schools have entrance testing requirements. You should check to be certain you know what they are.
While some programs have been known to accept students with GPAs as low as 2.5, that is not the norm. Students seeking to enter healthcare professional schools should strive to maintain a GPA well above 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
Extracurricular
