Advising

Each John Carroll student is assigned an advisor to assist with course selections and to counsel students on a variety of academic-related issues. In addition students interested in pursuing healthcare careers, along with their advisors, can get additional advice from the Chair of the Pre-Health Professions Program. The Chair of this program regularly attends conferences and campus visits in order to keep up to date on the requirements of the various healthcare professional schools and programs. John Carroll maintains a university membership in the National Association of Advisors for Health Professions (NAAHP) to which the Pre-Health Professions Chair is the University representative. This organization provides workshops, conferences, and literature that creates and maintains a network of Pre-health Professions Advisors and liaisons with the professional schools and organizations. This along with a variety of other resources serve to keep the Chair of this program aware of current trends in the requirements for gaining admission to the various healthcare professions.
