Students, prospective employers connect at job fair

More than 800 people filled the intramural gymnasium last night for "Careers in the Business Sector 2002," including 180 recruiters from area firms and other organizations who fielded questions and collected resumes from several hundred students (550 signed in).  Junior Kelly Lucha (left in lower righthand photo) connected with Royal Appliance, represented by Candace Gash '94 MBA '99 (ctr), Marketing Manager; and Gerri Jeffrey, Human Resources Manager. Also on hand were about 30 members of the faculty and 14 from the Career Center. In followup surveys a number of recruiters say the JCU job fair is "the most professional they attend in the area," according to Joan Hill, Director-Career Program and this year 170 students who completed an evaluation were overwhelmingly favorable.
