"Celebration of Scholarship" cake
"Celebrating Scholarship" with speeches, hors d'oeuvres Cathy Anson, Mary Beadle and David LaGuardia
The university took its "Celebration of Scholarship" - complete with giant cake - to the Atrium yesterday as David LaGuardia, Academic Vice President, noted what the university was celebrating: teaching, discovery, integration, application and communication. He said "discovery" was what was most significant to him, because "it becomes part of every other one of these." Also shown in the picture at right are Mary Beadle, Dean of the Graduate School whose office originated the nearly week-long program, and Cathy Anson, Grants and IRB Administrator, who coordinated the efforts of the team that put the celebration together.
