| Ohio Supreme Court Justice Alice Robie Resnick was the speaker at the City Club yesterday as John Carroll initiated sponsorship for telecast of the weekly forum on WVIZ public television. Acclaimed for maintaining the longest running program of its kind dedicated to free speech, the City Club has presented figures of local, national and international renown. “It is through forums such as the City Club that citizens can be enlightened on the impact our judiciary has on every individual,” noted Justice Resnick. She spoke about the importance of an independent judiciary in protecting individual rights. Accepting the gavel at the meeting as president of the City Club was Leonard Calabrese '68. JCU is also represented at the organization by intern Elizabeth Orr, who enters her junior year at Carroll in the fall. |
