Fall 2001 Tuohy Lecture Series: 'Islam and the Political Future'

John Kelsay, professor and chair of Religious Studies at Florida State, held the Walter & Mary Tuohy Chair of Interreligious Studies during the Fall semester of 2001at JCU, delivering a series of lectures on "Islam and the Political Future."  "For a long time Americans thought of Islam as something 'over there,'" noted Dr. Kelsay,  adding that today it is "the fastest growing religion in the United States, bar none."  The series had been planned well over a year before the tragic events of September 11th unfolded.
