Msgr. Mazzotta on 'Women and the Gospel'"The only people who truly accepted the preaching of Jesus in the way in which he meant it were women," declared Monsignor Guido Mazzotta, as he presented "Women and the Gospel: Answering the Call to Holiness," last night in the Lombardo Conference Room. Msgr. Mazzotta, Vice Provost and Dean of Philosophy at Pontificia Universita Urbaniana in Rome, spoke in Italian and his translation was presented by Francesco Cesareo, Director of the Institute of Catholic Studies. Earlier Msgr. Mazzotta (right) chatted with Bonnie Brunelle, a senior who has completed the Catholic Studies concentration. Defining Christian sanctity, he said, "Every baptized soul rewrites the Gospel with his life." The lecture was presented by the Bishop Pilla Program in Italian-American Studies and co-sponsored by the Institute for Catholic Studies. |
