'We're going to have some fun,' Polk tells Entrepreneurs Assn. |
|
Members of the Entrepreneurs
Association received their first glimpse of John Polk's energetic style
last night at a meeting on "Budgets and Business Plans."
Presenting were Thomas J. Adamo (above left), CPA and Chief Financial
Officer of ColorMatrix Corp., and Robert M. Mooney (above right),
Principal, PMG Partners.
Polk (left), President of Affinity Group Strategies, Inc., and former Executive Director of the Greater Cleveland Growth Association’s Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE), became EA director last month. He recalled the time a few winters ago when he drove through a snowstorm to address the Private Sector Business Organization, the group of alumni and alumnae that became the Entrepreneurs Association. "I expected about 25 to show up, but there were 150 members there at 8 a.m. on a miserable Saturday morning. I realized 'these people think a lot of this organization." It was obvious Polk shares that enthusiasm. "This (Greater Cleveland) community is in desperate need of entrepreneurial leadership. The leaders of the Entrepreneurs Association have convinced me they want to make some noise and be a force for good and empowerment in this economy." Looking around at the crowd in the Lombardo Conference Room, he said, "You could light a small city with the brainpower in this room." |
