Collins, Poet Laureate of the United States, came to John Carroll Wednesday
(Jan. 29) and drew a standing ovation from an audience that overflowed the
Lombardo conference room. Collins, professor of English at Lehman College
of the City University of New York, has published seven collections of poetry,
including Nine Horses, released last fall by Random House.
Introducing Collins was JCU English Professor George Bilgere, whom Collins
selected last year to give a reading at the Library of Congress. Click on
