"She has carried the torch the last two years," declared Paul Klein, Dr. Owen's counterpart at Cleveland State University, who share in the introduction of ClevelandIntern.net in the rotunda of Cleveland's City Hall. Also present was Father Ed Glynn SJ and leaders from the other participating colleges, which include Baldwin-Wallace, Ursuline, Case Western Reserve and Cuyahoga Community Colleges. Eric Knudsen of Tri-C served as master of ceremonies.

Keynote speaker was Tim Mueller, Chief Development Officer of Cleveland, who acknowledged the crucial role of Jason Therrien and the Internet company he founded, Thunder::Tech, which created the web site and co-sponsored its introduction. "Here's a company that has seven employees that came directly out of John Carroll in 1999 and is really doing it," said Mueller, who several years ago co-founded a successful Internet startup, VantageOne. "They are the 'poster child' for what we hope ClevelandIntern.net will produce."

Also speaking were Dick Pace, Chair of the Greater Cleveland Growth Association's Economic Development Council, and Carol Rivchun, Fenn Educational Fund of the Cleveland Foundation.
