'guidance liaison' teachers

Father Ed Glynn SJ welcomed more than 70 "guidance liaison" teachers from Cleveland elementary schools to a workshop, "All Aboard the College-Bound Express," presented at Carroll by the Department of Education and Allied Studies last week. "The true test of a teacher is how well they influence their students in making their life choices," the university's president said. "And we'd love to have them here at John Carroll." Observed Admission Director Tom Fanning, "We are enrolling people here from all different income ranges." The teachers also received a welcome from Education Chair Kathleen Manning and a self-improvement module from Assistant Professor Nancy Taylor before separating into break-out sessions led by four JCU graduate students: Karen Brown; Virginia Hendrickson, Jessica Mason and Elaine White.
