Professor Francesco Guardiani of the University of Toronto spoke at JCU last week, as part of the Bishop Pilla Lecture Series, on Matteo Ricci SJ, "Apostle of Christ, Apostle of Modernity.' The Jesuit missionary died in 1610 in Peking after baptizing thousands and introducing western scientific thought to China.
