| NCAA thrills end for Blue Streaks in final seconds at Wooster | |
The
Blue Streaks mens' astounding basketball season came down to the final seconds
before it ended in a 77-75 victory for Wooster in the second round of the
NCAA tournament Saturday night (Mar 8) at Timken Gymnasium in Wooster. The
Plain Dealer's Burt Graeff called it a game that defined all that is good
in Division III basketball and reported Head Coach Mike Moran's comment
on Peter Koch, who missed a shot with the score tied and then saw a shot
by Rodney Mitchell, the man he was guarding, fall in for the game-winner
with 3 seconds on the clock."As for Peter Koch," Moran told Graeff, "the only (way) he could have done any more (was) to go to the bench, dip into a barrel and start feeding the fans bread and fish. He was tremendous." And the rest of the good news? With the exception of senior Jason Pecjak, Koch and this quintessential "team" will return next year!
