(Above, right) Annie Hetman and Jason Cox placed a bouquet of flowers at the base of the memorial statue at the crematorium of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp just outside of Berlin. They were with a group that included Associate Professors Matthew Berg and Andreas Sobisch and 20 students enrolled in a cross-listed History/Political Science seminar, "Berlin: Between Reich and Republic" that focuses on the historical and political developments in Germany from the Nazi era to the present. "We've been fortunate in that we've received grants from the German Academic Exchange Service to subsidize our study tour element in 2001 and again this year," Professor Berg said.

(Top left) Malcolm Smith, Director of Judicial Affairs, and Angie Urmson Jeffries, Residence Life, led a group of students to the Bedford-Stuvysant neighborhood of Brooklyn (NYC) for a service and sharing experience. And Dan Bizga, Campus Ministry, stayed with 10 students in Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood at the Famicos Foundation. They worked with children at St. Thomas Aquinas elementary school as well as the Fatima Family Center daycare.
