Rabbi Michael Lerner, founder of Tikkun Magazine, author of multiple books including Healing Israel/Palestine, and visionary rabbi of the Renewal Judaism movement, will speak at John Carroll University on Monday, April 10, 2006 at noon. His lecture entitled “Healing Israel/Palestine,” will take place in Rodman Hall, Room A. During his address, Rabbi Michael Lerner will discuss his book, Healing
Lerner’s Tikkun is one of the most respected intellectual/cultural magazines in the Jewish world, but it is also one of the most controversial. Because of its stand in favor of the rights of Palestinians, Lerner has become the United States’ most prominent spokesperson of Jewish supporters of the Israeli peace movement. In contrast, he also is noted for his stand analysis of the anti-religious and anti-spiritual biases of the secular left, insisting that they need to address the spiritual hunger of Americans as equally important to their material needs. |
