John Carroll University’s Amanda Majewski awarded prestigious
National Betsy Plank/PRSSA Scholarship

Cleveland, OH –John Carroll University senior, Amanda Majewski, has been selected as a recipient of the National Betsy Plank/PRSSA Scholarship. This is a prestigious award that is only given to three students a year around the nation. Majewski, from Waterford, Pennsylvania, is a communications major with a marketing minor.

Established in 1988, the scholarship is open to all PRSSA members enrolled in an undergraduate public relations program who are juniors or beginning their senior year. Every PRSSA chapter in the nation can nominate one candidate. The scholarship recognizes academic achievement in public relations and overall, demonstrated leadership, practical experience, and commitment to public relations.

In addition to this newest scholarship, Majewski is also the recipient of the GE Public Relations Award. She is the vice president of John Carroll’s Eta Eta chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association Honor Society and president of John Carroll’s chapter of PRSSA. She was a previous intern at Fleishman-Hillard and Dix and Eaton, where she recently accepted a position following graduation.
John Carroll University, located in Cleveland, Ohio, is a liberal arts university grounded in the Jesuit, Catholic tradition. The university has some 3,350 plus undergraduates and just over 750 graduate students. The U.S. News & World Report’s 2006 annual college guide ranks John Carroll University among the top 10 master’s-degree granting universities in the Midwest and first in average graduation rate. Originally founded as St. Ignatius College in 1886, the university was renamed in 1923 to honor America’s first Catholic bishop, John Carroll of Maryland.
