Carroll University Senior Wins ROTC University
Heights, OH -- Christopher J. Dolar of North Olmsted, Ohio, has
been named the George C. Marshall Award winner from John Carroll University.
Given annually, this award is presented to the most outstanding cadet
in the Army ROTC program at John Carroll University. The award is named
in honor of Army General George C. Marshall. Marshall served as the Chief
of Staff of the Army, Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense. He
was the author of the restorative Marshall Plan and was the only career
soldier to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Dolar will join 272 other cadets from around the nation at the 38th George C. Marshall ROTC Award symposium in Virginia later this month. He will participate in roundtable discussions on leadership, ethics and national security with national defense and Army leaders. Dolar, a 2002 graduate of North Olmsted High School, is the son of James and Dena Dolar of North Olmsted, Ohio. He was awarded a four-year Army ROTC scholarship and has attended John Carroll University since September 2002. Dolar will
graduate and be commissioned May 21, 2006, and will be assigned to the
Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course. Military Intelligence officers
provide timely, relevant and accurate intelligence and electronic warfare
support to leaders at all levels. MI officers lead, manage and direct
intelligence planning and operations across the entire operational continuum.
