John Carroll University’s
First-Year Students |
WHAT:
On Saturday, August 26, a group of 75 first-year students will begin their college careers by serving the community. “Connecting with Community” is a voluntary project offered to students entering their first year at John Carroll University through the New Student Orientation process. The day of service is organized by the Office of Campus Ministry and the Center for Community Service at John Carroll. New students will join faculty and staff at eight different locations around Cleveland (see below). The goal of the project is to engage incoming students in the mission of the university from day one—to engage the world as men and women for others. The students will depart campus at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, volunteer at the respective sites from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and then return to campus for lunch. The group will have a processing session during lunch, where students will receive a t-shirt recognizing their participation in the day. |
