John Carroll University’s Office of Campus Ministry joins Catholics in Alliance
of the Common Good to present “Is There a Catholic Way to Vote?”


WHAT:

The Office of Campus Ministry at John Carroll University joins Catholics in Alliance of the Common Good in sponsoring a panel discussion on faithful citizenship and elections entitled “Is there a Catholic way to vote?”

Panelists will offer Catholic voters insight on assessing proposed legislation and the viewpoints of candidates with regard to the Church teaching, specifically the Catholic Social Teaching. Resources used to prepare Catholics to vote knowledgeably in elections will be presented and a question and answer session will follow the panelists’ discussion.

WHO:
Dr. Paul V. Murphy, director, Institute of Catholic Studies at John Carroll University will serve as moderator of the discussion and host the following participants:

• Simone Campbell, SSS, national coordinator, NETWORK: A National Catholic Social Justice Lobby
• James W. Tobin, associate director, Department on Social Concerns, Catholic Conference of Ohio Bishops
• Thomas Allio, Jr., executive director, Social Action Office of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland
