WHAT:
John Carroll University’s Office of Multicultural Affairs celebrates the leadership legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in a special musical tribute and lecture, featuring Dr. Marvin McMickle, a noted pastor, professor and widely published author.

The John Carroll University Gospel Choir will perform at this inspiring commemoration.

WHAT:

Dr. McMickle is the Senior Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. He will discuss topics in his latest book, Where Have All the Prophets Gone?: Reclaiming Prophetic Preaching in America.

Dr. McMickle’s presentation at John Carroll University will address issues regarding the need for sincere and dynamic voices to uplift justice and integrity as
exemplified by Dr. King. Dr. McMickle has served as the Senior Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church since 1987, where ministries in the areas of job training, head start and financial planning are offered. He earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey and was awarded his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. McMickle is currently a professor at Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio. He is also a past president of the Shaker Heights Board of Education.
