2009 RELAY FOR LIFE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Thank you for considering a position on the Leadership Team for the 2009 American Cancer Society Relay For Life of John Carroll University. Please read the requirements, expectations, and job descriptions before completing and submitting your application. All applications MUST be submitted via e-mail to relay@jcu.edu and are due on Friday, May 2, 2008 by 5:00pm. Note that much of the application cannot be completed until after the 2008 Relay For Life, so applications should not be submitted prior to the Relay event. You will receive a confirmation e-mail upon receipt of your application.
Requirements & Expectations
- All applicants must be attending John Carroll University for both the fall 2008 and spring 2009 semesters.
- All positions require that the applicant participated in a previous John Carroll Relay as a team member/captain, survivor, or volunteer.
- There is a large time commitment associated with most positions on the leadership team. All applicants should understand this commitment in order to plan and execute a successful Relay.
- Leadership team meetings will be held at the discretion of the new chair(s); however it is reasonable to expect that they will occur bi-weekly in the fall and weekly in the spring.
- Members of the leadership team are expected to attend one training session in the fall (state summit) or the spring (regional training). Sessions are on Saturdays and dates are yet to be announced.
- All individuals selected to lead next year's Relay are expected to cooperate fully with other members of the leadership team in the spirit of leadership development, teamwork, and Relay.
- All members of the leadership team are expected to support other members of the team, helping when and where needed, and are required to stay at the Relay event for all 18 hours.
- All applicants should show an unparalleled enthusiasm for Relay and be willing to put the time and energy forth to make it even better in 2009!
