AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY (ACS) QUICK FACTS

American Cancer Society Mission Statement

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service.

American Cancer Society 2015 Goals

  • Double the number of lives saved from cancer.
  • Reduce by a quarter the number of people who will have to hear the words, "you have cancer."
  • Empower people to make informed decisions while advocating for the highest quality of life for cancer patients and their families.

The American Cancer Society Is...

The American Cancer Society is accelerating the progress against cancer in every community by saving lives, helping those touched by cancer, and empowering people to fight back against this disease. Thanks in part to funds raised at Relay events around the world, the Society is making an impact in the fight against cancer.
