REGISTER AS A TEAM MEMBER

A team member joins an already-established team on our American Cancer Society website. As a team member, he/she will receive communications most frequently from the team captain, but also occasionally directly from the Relay Leadership Team. All team members are expected to contribute to the team's fundraising goal. As a participant, the Relay Leadership Team requests that you raise at least $100-$125 through donations or luminaria sales. It's easy to do -- click here for some fundraising tips (PDF format).

Who can be a team member? Anyone. Who can be a team? Commonly, teams are formed from individuals in the same student organization or athletic team, residence hall floor, class, family, or even groups of friends.

Read below for detailed instructions on how to join a pre-existing team and register as a team member.

1. Go to the American Cancer Society Sponsored Site for JCU, http://www.relayforlife.org/jcu.
2. Click on the "Sign Up" icon (pictured at right) under the page header.
3. Click on the giant "Join a Team" icon.
4. When prompted, type in at least the first few letters of your team's name. Select "Search for a Team." On the resulting screen, click on "Join" to the right of your team's name.
5. Choose your participant type of "Sign Up Now."
6. All registration fees will be paid offline and collected and submitted as a team. As such, we ask that you select the "No additional gift" option. If you would like to make a donation at this time, please feel free, but understand it will not count toward your required $10.00 registration fee.
7. Indicate your personal fundraising goal at the bottom. We recommend personal goals to be $100-$125. Click "Next Step."
8. Complete the next page asking for your personal contact information, t-shirt size, and more.
9. Click on "Next Step" and complete the process, including billing information. You are now registered as a team member and you can start fundraising online!
