Relay For Life >> Remember

Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back.
The nationwide theme of Relay For Life events is "Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back."

This theme takes on a year-round mentality, encouraging participants to celebrate survivors throughout the year and remember those we've lost to the disease all while we are actively fighting back.

The theme also stretches to encompass the three major ceremonies conducted during each Relay For Life event. To view information about each corresponding ceremony, read to the right.

  • "Remember" is the theme of the emotional Luminaria Ceremony. It is at this time when participants and onlookers alike can reflect and remember those who have courageously fought and, sadly, lost their battle to the disease.

  • Reflect on the good times with those we've lost to the disease.
  • Honor deceased family members, friends, and colleagues with luminaria at Relay For Life.
  • Make a commitment to stress early detection and prevention to everyone so that cancer won't strike close to home again.
