Based on Ernest L. Boyer's Scholarship Reconsidered, the event celebrates the four general views of scholarship: teaching, discovery, integration, and application. The campus-wide Celebration for students, faculty, and other University community members features workshops, panel discussions, poster sessions, paper presentations, and other activities.

The 2008 Celebration was hosted by Dr. Lauren Bowen, Associate Vice President for Academic Programs and FacultyDiversity and coordinated by Catherine Anson, Director of Sponsored Research with support from Fran Dittrich.
