Faculty Service Awardees

Curtis W. Miles Faculty Award for Community Service

The Curtis W. Miles Faculty Award for Community Services is awarded by the Faculty Forum Research Service and Faculty Development Committee. The $500 award is given to full-time teaching or library faculty member who has made a significant contribution to the greater Cleveland community consistent with the university's mission and goals.

2006-2007 Awardee

Dr. Richard Clark
Department of Sociology

Awarded for his commitment to restorative justice, death penalty issues, and environmental issues

2004-2005 Awardees

Dr. Margaret Finucane
Department of Communications

Awarded for her work on the community garden program through her course "Cultivating Community, in addition to her use of service learning in her classes, organizing the "study friend" program for international students, and serving on the board of directors for the Lights of Hearts Villa.

Dr. Sharon Kaye
Department of Philosophy

  Awarded for her work with the Carroll-Cleveland Philosopher’s Program and for serving as the advisor to the John Carroll
Chapter of Amnesty International.
