STUDENT RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

INTERNAL OPPORTUNITIES

Undergraduate and graduate students may apply for research funds up to $250 from the Academic Vice President's Office. A limited number of projects may be funded. Conference fees for student presentations may be funded as well. Students must be sponsored by a faculty member and are encouraged to file early.

See the Faculty Development Forms site for guidelines and the application form.

In addition, faculty members and departments may have funds available for research internships. Check with individual faculty members and departments for more information.

Funds may also be available to graduate and undergraduate students to travel to conferences for research presentations. Check with faculty and departments for more information.

EXTERNAL OPPORTUNITIES

Student fellowships and researach grants available from outside agencies can be found using the SPIN funding database from any campus-connected computer. Use the advance search options to select funding for students. See, for example, the Merck AAAS Undergraduate Research Program.

Announcements for graduate student fellowships and research grants are posted on the bulletin board in the Wertheim Graduate Lounge, AD 20.

Individual departments and faculty may also be aware of subject-specific funding opportunities and fellowships.

For summer research opportunities (such as the REU programs) at other institutions and universities, contact the academic department chair of your subject area of interest.
