John Carroll University
Rowing was established in 1992 by
students who had an interest in the
sport. The team spent its first years
using borrowed equipment and setting
the groundwork for the future.
There are both men’s and women’s
teams at JCU in both the novice and
varsity categories. All four teams
travel together, but compete in separate
men's and women's events.
Growth has come quite rapidly for
the team and it is currently the largest
club sport at JCU. The team now owns
all of its own equipment, including
three new boat purchases in the last
four years.
JCU rows out of the Cleveland Rowing
Foundation boathouse in downtown Cleveland,
located on the shores of the Cuyahoga
River.
The team has medaled in several
top races around the country, including:
Head of the Elk, Head of the Ohio,
Head of the Occoquan, Governor’s
Cup, MACRA, Dad Vail, and several
others throughout the years.
Through the hard work and dedication
of every member and coach over the
years, John Carroll University Rowing
has reached its current success.
We encourage you to become a part
of it!
