GETTING STARTED!

Whether you are interested in including a service learning component in a course or in simply inviting your students to participate in a service project, we will be happy to work with you to develop a service activity that meets your needs.

If you'd like to enroll as a Service Learning Faculty Member, simply call our office at 216.397.4698. We will meet with you to learn about your course, your thoughts on what might be appropriate criteria for a service activity, and what outcomes you would like your students to experience as a result of their service. Then, we will develop the necessary placements with community-based organizations, plan the transportation logistics and schedule, and enter your course into our online database for more accurate recordkeeping.

If you wish, we can also give you access to the "Faculty Only" section of our website, where you will have the ability to:

• View your service-learning course history
• Register new courses for service learning
• See details of your students' service activities in terms of where they are participating in service, what types of activities they are doing there, and what other classes or campus activities to which they are attributing their service hours
• Track and print reports of your students' service hours
