PRE-SERVICE ORIENTATION SESSIONS

All students must attend a Pre-Service Orientation Session prior to participating in a service activity.** Pre-Service Orientation Sessions are intended to provide an overview of the entire service experience. In this session, you will learn about:

• the importance and role of service in a Jesuit education
• the difference between voluntary service and service learning
• how to enroll and register for service on our website
• what to expect from your service
• what you will gain from your service experience
• what your responsibilities are in service
• the role of reflection in service
• information regarding safety, logistics, transportation, and more!

Because Pre-Service Orientation sessions are held in a computer lab with limited seating, students must reserve a spot in a session. You can do so by clicking here.

• Thursday, September 11, 8:00-9:00pm
• Friday, September 12, 4:00-5:00pm
• Monday, September 15, 4:00-5:00pm
• Monday, September 15, 6:30-7:30pm
• Tuesday, September 16, 5:00-6:00pm
• Tuesday, September 16, 6:30-7:30pm

Please remember that the deadline for attending a Pre-Service Orientation Session and enrolling and registering for weekly service learning activities is Wednesday, September 17th!

**Students who attended a Pre-Service Orientation Session in Fall 2007 or Spring 2008 need not attend another session this semester, but can simply search and register for a service activity beginning Monday, September 8th by clicking here. All service activities will be opened for registration on that date and remain open until registration closes on Wednesday, September 17th.
