DONATIONS NEEDED FOR HONDURAS IMMERSION EXPERIENCE!
The Center for Service and Social Action at John Carroll University is again sponsoring a unique immersion experience to Honduras on May 28th-June 4th, 2008. Current JCU students, faculty members, administrators, and alumni in medical professions will partner with Honduran doctors to provide critically-needed medical care to residents in rural Honduras. The JCU group will be hosted by the Nuevo Paraiso program of Sociedad Amigos de los Niňos, a humanitarian organization providing social and developmental programs to the most vulnerable sectors of the Honduran population.
To help support their efforts, every immersion participant has agreed to carry one suitcase stocked entirely with items which will be distributed to the Hondurans—resulting in a total donation of 650 POUNDS of supplies! The Center for Service and Social Action is currently collecting donations of any of the items listed below; donations must be received no later than May 20, 2008.
For more information, please contact Center for Service and Social Action Coordinator of Immersions and Special Programs, Ted Steiner, at 216.397.6227 or at tsteiner@jcu.edu.
