Description:
A Cleveland Catholic Charities Community Services Program, Fatima Center is a multi-purpose neighborhood center serving the Hough-Central area. Programs are available for persons of all ages, races, and religious beliefs; the only requirement for use of services is need and a resident of the area. Available programming includes the Women's Saturday Breakfast Club, Emergency Assistance, GED Program, Literacy Program (children in grades 1-6), Senior Program, the Women's Boutique, the Learning Center (children ages 6 months to 5 years), WIA, and Computer Studies.
What we do there:
Service Participants assist with children's programming at Fatima Family Center. Depending on the day/time of service, participants can help with tutoring and recreational activities in the afterschool literacy program for children ages 6-12, or assist with daycare in the preschool and work with children between the ages of 6 months to 5 years.

Programs are available for persons of all ages, races, and religious beliefs; the only requirement for use of services is need and a resident of the area. Available programming includes the Women's Saturday Breakfast Club, Emergency Assistance, GED Program, Literacy Program (children in grades 1-6), Senior Program, the Women's Boutique, the Learning Center (children ages 6 months to 5 years), WIA, and Computer Studies.
Service Participants assist with children's programming at Fatima Family Center, providing homework assistance to children in grades 1-6 and also interacting with them by playing games and getting involved in other activities.
IMPORTANT: This is a loosely-structured environment. Service participants who prefer a more structured aftercare setting are encouraged to select another activity.
NOTE: Participation in this service activity requires:
- Completion of a 1-step TB test at JCU's Health Services (216.397.4349) office. There is NO CHARGE for this test. Participants MUST contact Health Services to set up an appointment by Friday, September 18th.
- Completion of an application and 2 reference forms which must be emailed to tpatterson@jcu.edu by Monday, October 1.
- Attendance on the first day of service, during which participants will need to provide information for and agree to a background check.
