Description:
The mission of the Cleveland Foodbank is to alleviate hunger by providing food and support to community organizations that feed the hungry. The Foodbank serves as a clearinghouse for donated and rescued food in the Cleveland area, which is then distributed to hunger programs across the city. Last Year, the Foodbank distributed over 20 million pounds of food to more than 450 area food pantries, hot meal programs, shelters, child-care centers and homes for the elderly.

What we do there:
One Time Projects and Special EventsDuring the academic year, the second Tuesday of every month is "JCU Night" at the Cleveland Food Bank. Service participants assist in indirect service in the Repack Warehouse, where they help to sort and repack nonperishable food that is later distributed to local food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. Participants are encouraged to bring a sweater or light jacket, as the warehouse can be chilly.
