Description:
Montefiore is a nonprofit organization that offers a comprehensive system of healthcare services for seniors. Montefiore offers both residential and community programs with the goal of providing a continuum of quality care. Founded in 1882, Montefiore has more than a century of experience in caring for seniors. Programs include long-term nursing care, post-hospital care, a dementia special care unit, home health care, hospice care, wellness clinics, and rehabilitation therapies.

What we do there:
Service participants support some of the many recreational activities that Montefiore offers its residents. Tuesday participants join residents in "Bubbe's Kitchen," a cooking program in which volunteers transport residents to the kitchen and then join them in learning about, preparing, and sampling traditional Jewish recipes such as Matzo Ball soup and hamentaschen--or not-so-traditional items like banana splits! Wednesday participants assist with the weekly Bingo game, transporting residents, distributing materials, calling the game, and joining in the fun.
