Goodrich-Gannett Neighborhood Center is a non-profit organization with the mission to promote positive outcomes that improve the quality of life for youth, adults, families, and seniors through comprehensive neighborhood-based services. The Center supports a variety of programming, including early childhood education, after school and summer camp programming, parent education and other family services, Moms First, and services for older adults such as weekday lunch, transportation, home-delivered meals, housekeeping services for the homebound, and adult development activities.
What we do there:
Service participants engage in a variety of activities, depending on the population group with whom they are serving. Participants assisting in the afterschool programming help to build literacy, math, science and social studies skills. Service participants working with older adults help with such learning activities as discussion groups, arts and crafts, exercise, games, computer skills, and more. Service participants assisting with the preschool programming work with young children ages 3-5 in various games, crafts, and skill-building activities.
