Marymount Hospital was founded in 1949 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis. Marymount is a full-service, 322-bed, acute-care Cleveland Clinic community hospital servicing southern and southeastern Cuyahoga County and neighboring communities.
The mission of Marymount Hospital is to provide excellent health care guided by the Christian values of Service, Compassion, Dignity and Respect.
What we do there:
Service participants in this activity will serve as "Comfort Runners" and support the floor nursing staff by visiting and talking with patients, assisting with making them comfortable, demonstrating how to use the equipment in the room (tray table, bed, TV, call light, etc.).

Service participants in this activity will observe the monthly "Healthy Heart Screening" offered by Marymount Hospital to low-income members of the local community. Services provided include free glucose, cholesterol and blood pressue checks.
Participants should report to Jackie Trenton at the Door 4 lobby on the west end of the hospital. Service participants in this activity will serve as "Comfort Runners" and support the floor nursing staff by visiting and talking with patients, helping to make them comfortable, demonstrating how to use the equipment in the room (tray table, bed, TV, call light, etc.), and other activities as directed by the nursing staff. Participants will be trained by the floor nurse on the first day of service.
NOTE: Participation in this service activity requires:
- Completion of a 2-step TB test through JCU's Health Services (216.397.4349) office. There is NO CHARGE for this tests. Participants MUST contact Health Services to set up an appointment by Friday, September 18th.
- Participants must email a jpg photo of themselves to tpatterson@jcu.edu by Monday, September 14th. This photo will be used to create an identification badge to be worn during service.
- Complete an application and waiver for a background check and email it to tpatterson@jcu.edu by Monday, September 14th.
- Participants must attend the first day of service, as an intensive orientation is provided on that day.
- No jeans may be worn at this service site, however, tennis shoes or comfortable walking shoes may be worn.
Failure to complete or comply with these requirements can result in removal from the activity. |
