Welcome to the John Carroll University Center for Service and Social Action website! This section is intended for JCU students who are interested in learning more about service opportunities through our office.

TYPES OF SERVICE

The Center for Service and Social Action offers a variety of service opportunities to suit the interests and needs of students. Service Learning involves service that is included as a component in an academic course. Voluntary Service allows JCU students to volunteer for an activity or program of particular interest to them. Service-based Immersion Experiences allow students to explore a community through direct service, experiential learning, and reflection. And Service Events and Service Programs provide opportunities to participate in one-time service events or to join a group of service-minded students.

GETTING STARTED

Participating in service through the Center for Service and Social Action is as easy as 1, 2, 3! All you have to do is:

  1. Enroll as a Service Participant
  2. Attend a Pre-Service Orientation Session
  3. Register for a Service Activity

For further details, simply click on the "Getting Started" link to the left. And feel free to call our office anytime at 216.397.4698; we'd be happy to speak with you!
