- Sociology students have gone on to do graduate
work at top universities throughout the United States in the areas
of: criminology, social work and counseling, law, public health,
public policy, public administration, education, business, sociology,
and anthropology.
- Graduate schools sociology students have attended
are: The University of Michigan, University of Chicago, Loyola
University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, New York University,
Columbia University, Boston College, Boston University, University
of Florida, John Carroll University, Case Western Reserve University,
The Ohio State University, Kent State University, Cleveland State
University, University of Cincinnati, and many more.
- A number of students have worked for well known
nonprofit organizations such as: the American Red Cross, the American
Cancer Society, The Alzheimer’s Association, and the Peace
Corps; and governmental agencies such as: the FBI, various juvenile
courts, probation departments, and a variety of other local law
enforcement agencies.
- A number of graduating seniors each year elect
to do a year of service with such organizations as: The Jesuit
Volunteer Corps, AmeriCorps, Teach America, and the Peace Corps.
- We also are a participating department in the
new Masters of Arts Program in Non-Profit
Administration at JCU.
