Tom Fulton, University Web Developer
Tom has served as Director of Web Development at John Carroll University since August of 2004. Tom came to John Carroll University from Case Western Reserve University where he served for three years as Director of the Office of Web Development and one year as Director of Creative Services. As Director of Web Development, he oversaw two global web redesign initiatives the University, the last of which was in collaboration with an international marketing/branding firm and is presently in operation on the Case website. With his promotion to Director of Creative Services at Case, Tom provided management, creative direction and hands-on implementation in all aspects of video, publications, voice-over, web design, photography and creative production.
Tom's computer training, consulting, designing and web developer experience spans 20 years. Previous to his work at Case, Tom served as MIS director for Voice-Pro, Inc., an executive management training firm in Cleveland Heights; VP for Computer Training, Custom Database Design and Web Development for Navigate, Inc.; IT director for FFC Mortgage Corporation; and Executive Director of The Access Group, Computer Training company in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
Tom brings with him extensive experience in management, including managing large groups of individuals in a highly technical and creative environments. In addition to being web programmer with expertise in HTML, Dreamweaver, FrontPage, CSS & FTP Functionality, Photoshop and Freehand, he also is a graphic designer with extensive, practical knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, and many other web and graphic design associated tools. Tom is also an ACCESS custom database designer.
He has an wide ranging background in marketing, organizational and creative leadership.
Tom spent the earlier years of his career as a professional actor, director, teacher and executive arts manager -- and as such has many years of practical experience in creative problem solving, fund development, not-for-profit-marketing, business communication, public speaking and persuasive writing skills.
