The College of Arts and Sciences was established in 1886 under the name St. Ignatius College.  The college is coeducational and initially enrolls all under-graduate degree-seeking students, both full-time and part-time.
In addition to the University Core Curriculum in the Liberal Arts, the College of Arts and Sciences offers programs of study in thirty majors leading to degrees of bachelor of arts (B.A.), bachelor of arts in classics (B.A.Cl.), and bachelor of science (B.S.).  Candidates for the degree bachelor of arts in classics must complete four courses in Latin (at or above LT 202) either as part of, or in addition to, other degree requirements.

Applying for Admission
All potential students seeking undergraduate admission to the university apply through the Office of Admission.

Students will take courses from the Boler School of Business throughout their undergraduate education.  Each department in the sciences has identified a faculty member as a liaison who will work with students interested in this program. This faculty member will act as their academic advisor to answer questions and to provide support and assistance in course selection.  In addition, students will come together once each semester and hear speakers from the community talk about career opportunities for science MBAs.  Additional information is located on the website for each department (www.jcu.edu/department).
