CACREP-Accredited Programs
In 2023, John Carroll’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling Programs received the maximum eight-year re-accreditation after submitting a two-year interim report, meaning that John Carroll's program is currently accredited into 2029.
Career Opportunities
In the Department of Counseling, we train students to be either Clinical Mental Health Counselors or School Counselors. Both of our accredited tracks lead to licensure by the State of Ohio.
Meet our Chair!
Dr. Moore is the Chair of the Department of Counseling at John Carroll University.
She is the President of Moore Counseling & Mediation Services, Inc. (MCMS).
An organization with several locations throughout Northeast Ohio, providing employee assistance programs and outpatient behavioral health treatment.
She is the current President of the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC), and the Ethics Chair Liaison for the Ohio Counseling Association (OCA).
She is the Past President of OCA and the Past President of the Association of Humanistic Counselors.
