100% Employment Rate

2024-25 Employment Rate for Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling Graduates was 100%. The Online Clinical Mental Health Counseling program graduates had a 93% employment rate.

In the Department of Counseling, we train students to be either Clinical Mental Health Counselors or School Counselors. Both of our accredited tracks lead to licensure by the State of Ohio.

Meet our Chair!

Dr. Moore is the Chair of the Department of Counseling at John Carroll University.

She is the President of Moore Counseling & Mediation Services, Inc. (MCMS).

An organization with several locations throughout Northeast Ohio, providing employee assistance programs and outpatient behavioral health treatment.

She is the current President of the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC), and the Ethics Chair Liaison for the Ohio Counseling Association (OCA).

She is the Past President of OCA and the Past President of the Association of Humanistic Counselors.

Vital Statistics - 2024-2025

For Fall 2025, the total enrollment for our three master’s programs was 261: 194 in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 45 in Online Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program, and 22 in School Counseling. Of the students admitted in the fall of 2022, 94%% completed the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in the expected three-year time period, 93% completed the Online Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program in the expected two-year time period, and 100% completed the School Counseling program in the expected three-year time period. The programs had 70 graduates from Fall 2024 to Summer 2025: 54 in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 14 in Online Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and 2 in School Counseling. Our graduates have consistently achieved high scores and high pass rates on licensing examinations. During this academic year, the graduates of the Clinical Mental Health Program and Online Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program had a pass rate of 90% on the NCE examination. School Counseling graduates from this academic year achieved a 100% passing rate for school counselor licensure. Our graduates also have been extremely successful in obtaining employment in positions in recognized occupations for which they were trained. Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduates had an employment rate of 100%. Online Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduates had an employment rate of 93%. School Counseling graduates had an employment rate of 100%.
