Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) will perform William Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in John Carroll’s Kulas auditorium for a three-night run this week. AFTLS is a national outreach educational program that travels to campuses worldwide. The artists provide lectures, workshops, and informal meetings with students. Their work allows students to observe extraordinary performances by some of the most talented actors in the world.
AFTLS comprises five Shakespearean artists from some of Britain’s best production companies, including The Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theater of Great Britain, and Shakespeare’s Globe Theater, among others.
The performances are on February 16, 17, and 18 in JCU’s Kulas Auditorium, and all shows start at 7:30 pm. John Carroll students can see the performances for free by showing their student ID. The community is welcome to attend; general admission tickets are $10. The John Carroll English Department is making this production possible through support from the Hopkins fund, established by an endowment from the Schubert Family.
