Background

Dr. Jisok Kang brings into the classroom over eight years of experience as a financial market regulator. He got a Ph.D. in Finance at Schulich School of Business (SSB), York University, Canada. His main research interests lie in corporate governance and finance, international finance, investments, and behavioral finance. He has received an M.B.A. from SSB and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Before joining John Carroll University, Dr. Kang worked as a researcher at the University of Cambridge, U.K.

Research

My main research areas are corporate finance and corporate governance though my research interests span wide areas of finance and accounting, including corporate and behavioral finance, investments, corporate governance and financial disclosure. A key feature of my scholarly pursuit is the examination of the social effects of finance and accounting institutions.
