Background

Dr. Webinger worked in forensic accounting before pursuing a Ph.D.  She then went to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to complete a Ph.D. in Accounting.

Research

Dr. Webinger’s research interests include business ethics and sustainability, Catholic Social Teaching in Business, human dignity and work.  She has done extensive research on financial and managerial accounting topics, specifically in the banking sector. Her dissertation focused on incentives and disclosure in the financial industry during the credit crisis. She is also interested in forensic research techniques and is currently pursuing the combination of her professional experience with her academic training in her research.

Dr. Webinger received a Wasmer Research Grant in 2010 to develop a research proposal using forensic techniques to examine General Motors cash flows after the US Treasury loan in 2009.

 

Additional Information

Dr. Webinger is the proud mother of eight children, three of which are JCU alumni.  She lives in University Heights with 5 of her children, a cat, a hamster, a snake and four chickens.
