Wellness Coaching

What is Wellness Coaching?

The Wellness Center offers wellness coaching for all undergraduate students. Wellness coaching is a short-term, non-judgmental, easy way to meet with a student or staff member to discuss a variety of issues and help reach your personal wellness goals.

What issues are typically talked about?

While we do handle a lot of topics, some of the most frequent ones are anxiety, transition to college, alcohol, cannabis, and finding your friend group/place on campus.

How is this different from counseling?

We can discuss similar topics to counseling, but the difference is with the severity of the issue. Wellness coaching is for when you are doing okay but would like to do better, and counseling is best when you are not doing well and need to get better! Wellness coaches can act as a good accountability partner for your wellness goals.

How do I get started?

If you want to meet with a student, email wellness@jcu.edu to be paired with a Peer Health Advocate.  If you would prefer to meet with a staff member, visit our staff page to read our profiles and you can book through an individual link.
