Bob Stein is an Executive in Residence: Leadership Development at the Boler College of Business at John Carroll University. Mr. Stein provides Mentoring & Coaching services to students, and alumni, which includes the oversight of the Boler Professional Development Program (BPD). Mr. Stein brings real-world C-suite leadership experience to the John Carroll campus. Mr. Stein has over 20 years of software experience serving retail industries. He is the Founder, President & CEO of RBS & Associates, a global consulting and advisory firm which serves global technology companies to the convenience store, supermarket, oil companies and other fuel retail industries. Bob is an investor and the Chairman of the Board of Liquid Barcodes, a loyalty technology platform for the retail and food service industries as well as an investor and board member of Noahs, a Copenhagen based food tech company. From 2001 to 2017, Mr. Stein served as CEO and President of Kalibrate Technologies (formerly KSS Fuels), helping to open the U.S. market for their pricing optimization software and consulting services to the fuel and convenience retail industries. The growth of the company under Mr. Stein led to a successful IPO on the London AIM Exchange along with a strategic acquisition expanding the company’s global reach and offerings to 70 countries. Starting as a CPA and audit supervisor at Coopers & Lybrand, (now PwC). Mr. Stein moved forward into retailing at Dairy Mart Convenience Stores (a 1200 store public company that was sold to Circle K in 2001), becoming President in 1994, CEO in June of 1995, and Chairman of the Board in December 1995 due to his previous efforts of turning around the Midwest division (former Lawson stores in Ohio) of over 700 stores. An innovator concerning customer’s engagement, Mr. Stein introduced no-fee ATMs and quality food service offerings at Dairy Mart that increased customer traffic and transactions at the stores which resulted in being recognized as the Convenience Store Chain of the year in 2000.
