Background

Carl Greppin is Managing Partner of Transpac Access www.transpacaccess.com, a global supply chain management firm. Currently, he is working to build a hydropower plant in Kyrgyzstan and travels there several times a year.

Engagements range from launching an importing office in Moscow, launching sourcing operations in China for a European wind turbine company, determining to which global regions a major luggage manufacturer could move production from China, saving a global capital equipment manufacturer $10 million on direct materials, solving FDA identified quality issues with a China supplier for a US medical device manufacturer, salvaging a US polymer manufacturer with a turnaround firm by saving $5 million per year on annual purchased costs, and building US air bases in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan.

Served in domestic and overseas management roles for FreeMarkets and took the company’s operations from startup to fully staffed offices in New Delhi and Taipei. Early career included a finance manager role with Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio and serving as general manager of FDC Forging in Cleveland, Ohio.

Areas of Expertise

Specializes in designing global sourcing programs for multinational companies. An international operations executive with 30+ years of experience in manufacturing, sourcing, finance, and high-tech startups. Has realized over $125 million in savings for clients and has sourced more than $1 billion in materials and services.

Research Interests

Why do people bribe and is it worth it? Conduct research in Kyrgyzstan and Republic of Georgia.
