Background

As an Academic and Career Success Advisor, I am teaching and advising, identifying and developing student strengths and goals, building tailored academic and career plans. My career includes 15 years in Higher Education including Career Advice at University College London and Academic Advising at Kent State University and 10 years teaching High School English in LA, NYC, and London. My first job teaching English in Taiwan to college freshmen motivated continued travel to India and Vietnam and living abroad in London and Hong Kong. I have been advocating for integrating academic and career advising in the college experience throughout my career. As lead of a student's onward team, I am inspired by and committed to fulfilling JCU's Onward promise.

Areas of Expertise

I started my career as an English teacher and have enjoyed continuing to develop and teach professional development curriculum. My experience in higher education careers started with University College London where I supported many international students with guidance, workshops and programming. I provide comprehensive career support to a diverse range of students helping to articulate their value, strategize their communication, develop meaningful connections, and achieve career success.
